Week one

I'm starting a Christmas challenge with some girlfriends. It starts tomorrow and we are all aiming to lose 5 or 10kg  by Christmas. So let's start from the start..
Why do I want to lose weight? I am post baby, she is now 14 months old and I am still 8kg above my pre pregnancy weight and 14kg above my post pregnancy weight. I also have my wedding planned for April 2017 and have already bought a most stunning dress that I want to look amazing in!!
How am I going to do it? Well I've already started, I've already lost 1kg (it was 2 but I've been sick and super busy at work the last few days and my eating and exercise have both suffered)  and I have done that just by having smaller meals, eating better, cleaner food and exercising more.  I am using a habit forming app called habitbull to help remind me to complete some items each day to help on my health journey. So far I have eating a healthy breakfast, doing 30 Min of exercise and drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day.
For my clean eating I am simply cutting down the amount of processed food that I eat, cereals are replaced with wholegrain oats or eggs for breakfast, bread is replaced by veg at lunch time.
For my exercise, at the moment it is mostly walking, with a pram and our two dogs. When the weather is crap I do a strength session instead. Which is a lot of fun when you have a small person trying to pull herself up on the coffee table you are doing incline press ups against!
I do not intend for this to be any form of diet. I want to make maintainable changes that I can keep for life. This is a lifestyle change not a diet!
Tomorrow morning is challenge start day so will be weighing, measuring and taking some beginning photos. Let's do this!
